Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is now the most commonly requested cosmetic procedure in the US. Join those who have effectively reduced unwanted body hair by 70-90%. Laser hair reduction means hair growth can be greatly reduced in terms of coarseness, amount and time it takes to re grow. People that once had to shave everyday, now find themselves shaving maybe once or twice a month.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

The laser targets the pigmented hair follicle, disabling it, affecting the hair growth. Laser hair removal targets the hair growing at the time of the treatment. Hair bearing areas are treated with a focused beam of concentrated laser light which is selectively absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft, as well as in the surrounding hair follicles. This causes thermal destruction of these anatomical sites and disrupts the hair follicles' ability to regenerate. In turn, this procedure causes permanent hair reduction. Unlike electrolysis which kills one hair follicle at a time, the laser reaches and treats hundreds of follicles at a time. At any given time, there is only 1/4 to1/3 of pigmented hair growing. Hair grows in different cycles, they start and stop growing at different times, that is why laser hair removal takes multiple treatments. People need a minimum of four treatments and as many as 10.
