How is acne formed?

Acne is formed from clogged sebaceus glands in the skin. Normal sebaceus are regularly cleansed of bacteria but when a combination of oil and cells in the gland gets clogged it causes inflammation or redness associated with acne.

Omnilux

Omnilux is a light based system that kills the bacteria associated with acne. An alternating red and blue light is used. The blue light eradicates the bacteria, while the red light calms the reddness associated with acne and promotes healthier skin. Eight treatments are recommended generally 2x week for 4 weeks.

Cooltouch Acne and Acne Scar Treatment

The laser energy is applied in gentle pulses over the treatment area. The energy penetrates deep enough to shrink oil glands and decrease their capacity to produce acne without affecting the oils necessary for healthy skin. Your body also rebuilds and replenishes your own natural collagen to fill in acne scars. Treatments are long lasting and safe for all skin types, included tanned and dark skinned patients.

This laser also works well on chronic areas of acne prone skin. If you always get the same pimple in the same area, with one treatment, that area can be gone!

Rosacea: IPL and Laser Genesis

When using combinations of laser modalities rosacea response is dramatic. Many times topical and oral medications are not effective, at the cosmetic laser center we have specific laser treatments targeted at treating rosacea. In many cases dramatic results are seen even after the first treatment.
